Group update

I will update on behalf of the whole group. Kevin took a few videos of us working. The only ones that came was me, Kevin and Yong Xian. The experiment was a mess, left me cleaning up afterwards. Now my floorboard is damp and is emitting a sandy smell. Kevin will post up the videos later after editing as some censored parts were made as we made mistakes. I made the coral reefs (wth lego) and Kevin and Yong Xian built up the "aquarium". Made a mess but still successful. The height of tsunamis went down lower if corals existed. Our small tsunamis were made as kevin hit the water hardly, splattering the disgusting mixture of sand and water and children footsteps(the sand was taken from a playground) all over. Kevin will give you more info later

Update

Ok, its been decided. The group will be coming over to my house to do the experiment tommorow. Yong xian will be getting the sand as i already gave him a dollar to buy a bottle of water. If you are a good samaritian, you would pay me 20 cents tommorow. Results and video (not confirmed) will be posted on tommorow. One more thing, we will also be finishing all the weekly worksheets that requires the whole team as well. Otherwise, good luck for your exams and good night!

P.S. Mr Kan, if you read this, i just want to tell you that it is more convinient to always have IPW at the canteen as the internet there is alot better.

Update

Kevin, you should have read about the suspended worksheets. So far the only free days are tuesday and wednesday. kevin and yong xian, i still have yet to take your comments. I hope you all have done your videos already, if not then by friday. I also put up ambience on the group blog, "nice and peaceful wave sounds". I still need a volunteer to edit our videos for us, otherwise i would have to do the extra work. Im not really good at that though. Gerald, i also need you to login into your gmail account ( the one which you use as a username for your blog ) and accept to be one of the group blog's authors. This is required, I checked on the GRACE webby and it says that all members must be authors of the group blog

Have a happy day!

Update

Ok, i read Kevin's remarks. We are in urgent need of a meeting again. But this now is too much of a rush for Yong Xian or Kevin to get sand. So, i need to see what days are you all free on. (Post on Tagboard) and we will meet at my house on that day ( The Great Singapore Reef ). The tank is still collecting beatuiful water dust and is begging me for attention. So i would like to see if everybody is free on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Tuesday will not be included as it will be impossible unless yong xian sees this post immediately and runs downstairs to get sand. Thats about it except for one more thing i want to mention. I want to set a personal deadline for our group for the video by this friday, by then the person with the most pro IT skills can edit the video. So I need a volunteer and yeah, see you 2moro at The Great Singapore School For Secondary Fish.

Update

Yong Xian, ty for the link. It was good.

We planned up for the videos, I shall be doing the dangers to coral reefs, Gerald will be doing about their importance, Yong Xian will be doing reef formations and edwin will be doing everything thats left.

Kevin isn't doing this as we left him in charge of doing the weekly worksheets and can approach us for help of course. Anybody who doesn't do their part will be blamed and we will file a lawsuit(Joking). Nobody is in excuse of being blamed, even the leader

Comments On Your Works

Generally, i think Edwin and Gerald did some great work. Kevin too but he didn't do any research after his first. I put your stuff into the powerpoint for a much neater work. Gerald, nice blogskin, but please find some time to edit it properly or find help from any other group member. Yong Xian, i can see you found some nice stuff, but i can only find a few things that affect coral reefs directly or indirectly, but they are very minor effects and might not change them at all. No offense, but your work seems like a copy n paste, sorry for the insult if you really did try to make an effort in rephrasing it. I also can't find anymore research items about coral reefs on the net or the pages, so research will be put on hold and we will focus more on our video dicussions between a person who loves coral reefs and one who is clueless about them. We still have yet to plan the roles for the members, but kevin i will leave that up to you. So basically, great work everyone and kevin, pls arrange another day for a meet up so that we can continue on our project. We also need sand, desperately. I could get some from the softball field but my coach would most likely kill me for that if he sees it. I also need someone to help me find a way to post up powerpoints on the blogger so that i can show it to mr kan and some random public people. Ok so thats about it and please notify me or kevin if you can get sand or if you got a better idea than using lego block as coral reefs.

The fish tank is getting dusty =.=

Some Admin Matters and Discussion

The size of the fish tanks compared to my puny head :) Sorry for the lighting, couldnt change it or it would be too dark to see anything

Discussion
I need somebody to volunteer to go to the beach to take some sand for us. Preferably sand with some shells but not too many. I might also need some soil. Plus, Kevin, please pass me the lego blocks ASAP for precaution.

Admin
i fixed the time, it was on GMT -8hours and was supposed to be GMT +8 hours. And also, Mr Kan, you mistook me as the leader of Aqua Blue, the shark/leader is supposed to be kevin, i am a mere clownfish/assistant leader/secetary. I also renamed our group positions, the members will be Random Fishes, AR will be a ClownFish and Leader is a Gray Reef Shark. All these marine organisms come from reefs so...you get the idea xP. I also changed the tagboard as the ads were annoying me >:(

Hope you all read this when you can, see you at the next update. ...or maybe at school

Update

On Tuesday, me, Kevin, Gerald and Edwin came to my house to try out our experiment. The experiment failed miserably as we didn't have sand and did not have enough lego blocks to make a "Coral Reef". So, after resisting the hard temptation of playing on my Wii and on our Macs, we finally came down to this decision: Make a powerpoint copy of all the research found which is my job, do a physical drawing of the experiment which is Kevin's job. The rest of the things will be put on hold and the rest of the team members will help us out whenever and however they can. I also need Yong Xian to classify your work properly as looking through your research slowly and putting them into the powerpoint is very tiring as i dn't get what your research is about half the time...

Update

Admin Stuff

Yong Xian I need you to edit the link to Gerald's blog if you haven't done so. The html code for this template is funny. Also, i want everybody to post whatever research they find onto their indivivual blog, i also expect you all to look at the group blog almost everyday. Sorry for the fact that i sound like i am commanding you all. --Edit-- Edwin will be coming over as well, and i also discovered that the timing for this blog has a problem. Whoever can fix the time problem and the title, pls do it, thanks

Project Stuff

Gerald & Kevin will be coming over to my house tommorow. Gerald, sorry for the burden of having to bring a fish tank to school, thanks. We are having a change of plan; instead of proving that some islands will erode away into ocean without coral reefs, we will instead see the difference on how to sand rises and sinks into water with and without coral reefs

With Regards
